What I Offer
If you’re looking for the best in piano and voice lessons, you have come to the right place! My instruction will give you the best return on your investment of time and money: I represent the highest quality of International extensive training in Piano and Voice. I hold a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance, with minors in Piano Pedagogy and Voice Pedagogy. My vast experience spans over 35 years of successful teaching and expertise in both areas. My students’ achievements and awards include acceptance into college music programs. Many of my students have won numerous Regional, National, and International competitions in the USA and abroad.
When I teach, I aim to create a patient and friendly atmosphere. I also ensure that my students understand everything we discuss during lessons, because I need them to practice with confidence. Parents are always welcome to join the lessons and learn as well, so they could help their children at home. It allows us to work as a team in achieving our goals, so the learning process can move smoother.
The studio offers regular performance opportunities: studio recitals, NVMTA Judged Recitals https://www.nvmta.org/judged-recitals/, various competitions, and preparation for RCM Examinations.
The Benefits of Taking Piano and Voice Lessons with Me
I accept motivated students of all ages and levels, which includes adults. Very young piano students are welcome! My method of teaching is very easy to follow and extremely effective. Beginning students for both piano and voice will find that it is much easier to build a solid correct foundation from the start. When you have to undo what was done wrong for many years, it can be difficult and frustrating.
If you need to improve your skills, you will benefit from my ability to correct bad habits acquired in the past. The technique I use to teach either piano or voice will provide you with a lifetime base, because it will allow you to play or sing at your very best technically and musically. You will never damage your hands or your vocal chords.
Students who are considering career choices in piano or voice will increase their chances under my instruction. If you are already a professional, but would like to expand your horizons to be a better teacher, accompanist, chamber musician, or solo performer, I will be happy to help! The curriculum is developed and customized for each student, so that I can be sure they excel to their best potential and achieve their musical goals.
About The Studio
Dr. Irina Yurkovskaya is the piano and voice teacher, and the owner of Perfect Pitch Music Studio located in Springfield VA. The studio provides services for residents of Northern Virginia, DC, and Maryland since 2007. Online lessons via Skype or Facebook are available worldwide, and to local students who cannot have lessons in person due to time or distance constraints. The best interest of all students is the highest priority of the studio.
